A1. The software is only available from Heatcraft Refrigeration Products Sales Representatives. Please contact your local Heatcraft Refrigeration Products Sales Representative to obtain a copy.

Q2. How do I install this software program onto my computer?
A2. First, check the minimum system requirements:

A3. The files are kept inside the software; not as a separate file.
Just click on the List icon
to see the job table content.

Clicking on the column headers will sort the table by that column.
Double clicking on the file will bring it up into the Job Information window.
Q4. After reloading the program, how do I restore my old job files?
A4. If you want to restore your files from a previous install:


Q5. Should I delete my old data after restoring my old job files?
A5. Only if you need to save disk space and you are 100% sure you will not need the data again.
Q6. How can I select and price a system without doing a load calculation?
A6. First, indicate the correct room and outdoor ambient temperatures in the General Information window.
Then, just click the Equipment Selection tab to open that window:

Q7. Can I balance a system using another brand of condensing unit?
A7. No! This software is designed to only balance systems with equipment
in its database. Since only Heatcraft Refrigeration models
are in the database, only Heatcraft Refrigeration
systems can be balanced.
Q8. How do I change my "default" information?
A8. First, enter the data you want to be used as your user default into the "Your Information" area of the General Information window.
Next, click on the Set as Default button.

Each time you open a new file, that information will be used by default.
Q9. How can I change from one Heatcraft brand name to another?
A9. First, select StartUp Form routine from Help menu.


Next, click to check the box to "Allow changes on restart" and Exit.
Then exit the program completely and restart it.
Follow directions on restart to select brand.
Q10. How do I get the Job Information window to reappear on my screen?
A10. If you ‘lose’ the Job Information window, you can retrieve it from the data tables. Select Job Data from the Data menu items (it will be darkened if selectable).

Q11. I lost my users’ manual. Where can I get another?
A11. There are several places you can get the users’ manual. There is an electronic copy of the manual on the installation CD. Another electronic copy was also copied onto your computer with the program. A copy of this electronic file can be downloaded from our website. All of these electronic files are PDF files with the file name UsersManR3·2.pdf and require Adobe Reader to open the file. A copy of Adobe Reader is also on the installation CD and copied onto your computer. The latest version of Adobe Reader can also be downloaded free at www.adobe.com. Adobe Reader must be installed onto your computer to open the file.
Q12. How do I update the program’s product and pricing information?
A12. Updates are available from several different sources:

Q13. Can I download my customer data from another software file?
A13. No. The database is not compatible with other "contacts" software formats.
Q14. Why can’t I get to the "wall loads" tab from the General Information screen?
A14. When you start a new load, the program opens with the General information screen and requires certain information to establish job "default" values. This is explained in the window special features help by clicking on the green "?".

Minimum data is needed for the following items before the program allows the other load source tabs/screens to be selectable for changes to factory defaults:

Q15. How do I input additional doors?
A15. In the "Air Infiltration/Doors" window, you can open additional input fields for more doors by right clicking inside the "Number of doors" input box. This will open one more set of field for another door. Up to 3 more doors can be added.
This is explained in the window special features help by clicking on the green "?".
Q16. What size door is used for the glass doors?
A16. The typical 30" x 66" glass doors are considered with anti-condensate heaters and double glazed (coolers) and triple glazed (freezers) panes.
Q17. What is the basis for the dock door loads?
A17. The factor is based on 3" gap along one side of the dock seals as estimated by the dock seal manufacturers for a 10 ft. door. Air velocity method of calculating load of infiltration is then calculated for the actual temperature difference of "active" doors.
Q18. Can I see the breakdown of the load calculation by load sources?
A18. Yes, by clicking on the "SL" (Summary Loads) button on the icon bar. ![]()
Q19. How can I modify the database information on products?
A19. First, click on Data task and select Products routine.

This will open a screen for editing the "products" database.
You can modify, add, sort and delete items in this database from this screen.
Note: The other databases listed in the Data task menus can also be modify this way.
The load calculation and equipment selection screens are actually the editing screens for the "Job Data" table or database.
Q20. How do I select other equipment models?
A20. On the "Equipment Selection" screen, there are ‘drop-down’ arrows next to the model numbers to open a selection window for alternate selections.

Q21. If equipment options don’t show, how do I get them to appear?
A21. This may require the databases to be reindexed and packed.
Q22. Is it possible to add more options to a quote than those in the database?
A22. Yes, by right mouse clicking into the last open option Description field.

Q23. Can the printout indicate net pricing?
A23. Yes, by right mouse clicking on the "List Each" pricing header.
Q24. How do I copy the job file for other scenario evaluations?
A24. By clicking on the "copy" icon, a complete duplication of the current job will be created.
Q25. Why does "my" other data change when I change the ambient value?
A25. The values from the "General Information" screen are used to determine the factory defaults for the values of the other load source tabs. Ambient is one of those values on the first screen. Changing it will recalculate factory defaults used for wall temperature loads, infiltration air temperatures and condensing unit values.
Q26. Can I fax the load and equipment selection printouts at the same time?
A26. Yes. Most computers with a modem are capable of have faxing software, which is selectable from the printer choices when setting up your printer type for printouts. The same is true of Cold Solutions (ProBox).
Q27. I keep losing my job. How do I save it?
A27. The files are kept inside the software; not as a separate file. Just click on the List icon
to see the job table content.
Clicking on the column headers will sort the table by that column.
Double clicking on the file will bring it up into the Job Information window.
To prevent overwriting the job you just completed, you should click on the new job icon.
This will save your previous job and begin a new job with a 'clear' database.
Q28. What do I do when the program gives me fatal errors and locks up my computer?
A28. Reload the software from the installation CD. Your database files will be saved in a special folder for retrieval if you wish to restore your previous files.
If the program continues to have problems, the Visual Fox Pro DLL files may be corrupt. These files are not re-installed during a reload of the program.
